When is the World Cup gonna end?

After some 4 weeks of enforced late nights, punctuated by sporadic bouts of sleep, it was to my surprise that I was yawning throughout the Brazil-Ghana match. I figured that it was for the better. I'd a DBS-IPO job (of designation yet unknown) the very next day. And so I went to sleep. Or so I thought.

I dreamt the stuff of dreams. Or whatever goalkeepers dream about. The perfect diving save, the arcing of the human silhouette, the fingertips pushing the ball away and the barely audible 'ooooo' that undoubtedly accompanies such a save of the highest quality. My mind, even in its state of reclusion, was still dwelling on the sujet-du-jour -- Soccer.

And alas, my period of shut-eye was short-lived. And when a bleary-eyed me awoke to a dark night sky, the luminous digits on my clock sang a sweet song. The IBM laptop beckoned. And so I succumbed, yet again, to the lure of French melodrama and Spanish exuberance. And all in all, my yet-to-be extinguished flame of hope, that Les Bleus of yesteryear prove themselves once again.
