My Mum!

As he trudged wearily across to the carpark with Kelvin and Rongwei, he reflected on the day just passed. An uneventful game of soccer, with the usual thrills and spills, the looming LTB camp on the morrow that was not yet even a blueprint.

His Mum's birthday would fall on Thursday, but the familial celebration was held on Saturday. Having the maternal family together, seeing the smile that creased her brow was reward enough. Having striven to provide for the family and coupled with the duties of housework, the toll was evident on her. She'd never once complained, and this she accepted as part of her life's work. Feeling guilty and grateful all at once, he knew that all he had to do to make her happy was his own success. And despite all his failings, there she was, always the first to back him up whenever her support was needed.

Thank you, Mum.
